Kiddos is a passion driven initiative to facilitate a child’s holistic learning. Kiddos provide a gateway to the children to learn, socialize, play and grow in a lovable, caring and secure environment.
Child Centric
With its child-centric philosophy, the focus has always been children. Other things like toys, infrastructure have always been secondary and are there only to facilitate a child's learning and growth. We try to expose kids to as many things as possible so that kids can pick up their own interest and enjoy and learn. First-time school goers often feel upset and anxious away from home. We ensure that the kids are provided with an amiable atmosphere so that they consider Kiddos as their second home. We make them settle in the new environment through patience, love and fun activities and not through candy bribes or scolding or threatening.
Customized Learning
Kiddos is a mix of children of different age groups and different capabilities. So, during the common time, each child gets an advantage of interacting with kids elder than and younger to him that widen his overall perspective. Our teaching approach and methodology is based on the stage of learning a child is in and not his or her age. For example, most activities are conducted with kids on individual basis. So, each kid of say pre-nursery is doing the same ‘Y’ craft but the one who can’t recognize the letter will be first helped to retain it in memory and the other who is able to speak and recognize ‘Y’ will be taught its phonics too while working on the craft. This way the child has always been kept interested because all the kids love these fun activities and simultaneous interaction that teach them something new. So, in a way, at kiddos, we try to customize a child’s learning. The pace is personalised as per a kid’s needs and abilities.
Free-Play
We provide a great emphasis on free-play at Kiddos. Kids do have organized play and activities but we never compromise on child’s inclination to do what he or she likes. Puzzles, Montessori toys, playtoys, balls, outdoor play equipment are all kept in different sections to let the children explore them freely and choose on their own wherein they want to indulge.
Division of Time in Small Activities
We use a pedagogy where the time is divided in activities rather than periods. There is no time division in periods. As attention span of kids is generally short, we have designed activities which can be done in short period of time. The child is expected to complete his required daily task and if he is done with it quickly and appropriately, we let him go out and play and explore. This teaches them the importance of doing work efficiently and that smart and good work is always rewarded. This is one of the main reasons why our kids are happy and want to come to playgroup even on weekends.
Assessment Through Play
We connect with kids through singing, dancing, craft and play. There are no formal tests or assessments unlike many preschools in the vicinity. Assessments are done on regular basis through day-to-day activities.
